Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Nibley Financial
At Nibley Financial, our mission is to take the many complexities, concerns, and problems of a person’s finances and give them the simplest and most effective solutions.
We do this by taking the time to understand the facts and circumstances of their current finances and financial goals. Then, we combine that information with our expertise in the tax and financial systems to provide a map of how to get to where they want to be, and the best financial vehicles to take them there.

Founder: Chris Nibley, CPA

Hi, I’m Chris Nibley, founder of Nibley Financial. After getting a bachelor’s and master’s in accounting, I started my career as a CPA at PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Los Angeles, working with Fortune 500 companies. It was great experience but I couldn’t help feeling like a small gear in a massive machine, in other words, redundant! So, after a couple of years I started looking for something a little smaller, in terms of clients and location.
I moved smaller and smaller until finding my groove working with small business owners and individuals – where the rubber meets the road, so to speak. At this level, every dollar matters and I felt like I could actually make an impact with my work. I then moved back to Utah and started my own practice in 2018 and it wasn’t long until I realized that I could provide exponentially greater impact for my clients by integrating financial advising and investment management with my tax practice.
I can finally say I love what I do for work and this is where you’ll be able to find me until I retire, whenever that is!

The Process
Exactly what we do and how we do it will look somewhat different with each client but the foundation is a four-step process:
1. Discover
Understand where you’ve been financially, where you’re at, and most importantly, where you want to be. Help you to identify, if you haven’t already, what the value of money truly is in your life so that the goals we identify will provide the maximum happiness. After all, that’s what it’s there for.
2. Design
Create a financial roadmap that will help you get from where you are to where you want to be and identify the vehicles that will get you there. There are at least three kinds of vehicles: tax strategies, financial planning, and investment management; but there can be more.
3. Implement
Set the vehicles in motion. Besides the three types of vehicles described in the last step, we might discuss estate planning, insurance, and other considerations which might be outside the scope of my services, however, you will have my full support in working with those professionals.
4. Update
Twice, or at least once, a year we meet to do the whole process again. Checking to see if goals and circumstances have changed, requiring adjustments of the vehicles we selected or the map itself.
