Money isn’t everything, but everything needs money.

About Me

Chris Nibley, dad and other things:
On the personal side, it’s pretty standard: I have two daughters, love the outdoors, reading, long walks on the beach, etc. Probably the only interesting thing about me is that before starting my career in business, I was a Marine Corps infantryman, and spent more than three years on the ground in Iraq. Semper Fi. Pretty strange transition to go from digging fighting holes to the finance world, but that’s a whole other story!

Investment Philosophy

Strategic diversification

Tax efficiency

My investment philosophy has three pillars: strategic diversification, data-driven decision making, and tax efficiency. Very simple to say, but hard to execute. On top of all that though is another layer which, as a former Marine, is near and dear to my heart – discipline.  The discipline to stick to the plan despite whatever bright, shiny things come along or despite the some scary headline you saw while reading the evening news. You can have the greatest plan in the world but if you don’t have the discipline to stick to it, the plan is useless. That discipline comes from the years of research I did prior to becoming a financial advisor and more importantly, the many more years of research done by the creators of the nobel-prize winning theories which my philosophy is ultimately based.

The Fiduciary Oath

Five Core Principles:

  1. To always put my client’s best interests before my own
  2. To act with prudence; that is, with the skill, care, diligence, and good judgment of a professional
  3. To not mislead my clients and to provide conspicuous, full and fair disclosures of all important facts
  4. To avoid conflicts of interest
  5. To fully disclose and fairly manage, in my client’s favor, any unavoidable conflicts

I swear to abide by all of these principles but here is what they mean to me:

  1. To invest my own money the same way I invest my client’s money
  2. To have one fee schedule for all clients
  3. To be an expert in business and personal taxes as well as the investment universe
  4. To be fully independent so that I am not incentivized, or restricted, to offer specific investments or products to my clients
